Biographie

Dermot Joseph Kennedy, né à Rathcoole (comté de Dublin, Irlande) le 13 décembre 1991, apprend la guitare à l'âge de dix ans, compose et se produit sur scène à l'adolescence. A la suite de ses premiers succès extraits de l'album indépendant Dermot Kennedy (janvier 2019),, classé n°5 en Irlande, l'auteur-compositeur et interprète pop et rock tourne aux Etats-Unis et voit son titre « Power Over Me » se classer n°10 dans son pays (n°21 dans les charts rock américains). Signé par le label Interscope Records, il travaille à un deuxième album, Without Fear (octobre 2019), annoncé par les extraits « Lost » (n°26) et « Outnumbered » (n°3 en Irlande, n°69 au Royaume-Uni). 

The Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy was born in Dublin in 1992. His first break came when he opened for fellow Irishman and folk singer Glen Hansard during one of Hansard's tours. With a little help from Spotify, Kennedy has enjoyed a meteoric rise selling out shows across Europe and the USA. After Spotify identified a trend created by one of Kennedy's songs they began to promote the track 'After Rain'.

The most surprising thing about Kennedy's rapidly rising popularity is that it all occurred prior to him having released an album, such is the power of social media and the various music platforms. Although Kennedy's music is folk influenced many critics have also mentioned the shades of hip-hop which appear in some of his songs.
